Position Summary

The HR Assistant will work under the direction of the Office/HR Manager.  The person in this position is responsible for a variety of human relations and translating services to assist the Office/HR Manager to ensure the effective function and operation of all departments.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Provide Spanish translation services as requested by the Office/HR Manager as well as other managers and supervisors as needed to include but not limited to: Weekly department huddles, company events, annual benefit meetings, various employee meetings related to confidential issues (e.g., performance, improvement notices, job status), assist with employee training, document translation
Conduct onboarding and orientation for new Spanish-speaking employees
Ensure company information is communicated with Spanish-speaking employees (e.g., benefits, events, policies and procedure)
Be liaison with temp employment agencies for recruiting Spanish-Speaking staff (i.e., advertising positions, arranging tours/interviews, accepting applications/ensuring requisite IDs valid, preparing employment offers, assisting with 90-day evaluations)
Assist with maintenance of up-to-date employee files and records, including Form I-9 documentation and confidential records--purging and retaining files per policy
Assist Office/HR Manager in creating standard work documents for office management and HR procedures, as well as Operations Department managers as requested
Assist in development of policies and procedures, and implementation of both
Assist with review and updating of job descriptions
Assist HR Manager with office management projects
Assist with maintaining up-to-date requisite postings on both farms, as well as any requested by managers
Serve as a member of the Activities committee, assisting with planning company events
Coordinate and post the greenhouse annex cleaning schedule
Maintain organized and welcoming front office; greet visitors

Experience

General business office
Human resources training or work experience
Translating
Public speaking

Knowledge / Skills Required

Must be able to communicate effectively and fluently in English and Spanish, verbally and in writing; can organize thoughts well and express them in a clear manner that is well received
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Good computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office 365
HR compliance
Possesses excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Must have good interpersonal skills
Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Education

High School graduate; college education a plus

Travel: Travel to Oxford farm required
