Standout in our trial gardens |
Phlox 'Solar Flare' really knocked our socks off! A new release from The Primrose Path, this phlox got our notice in the trial gardens, even as other notable disease resistant varieties started to fail in a hot and humid summer. Lovely white flowers with pink centers standing on rounded panicles in an upright and mounding form. Great for the garden when you need a stunner that can take punch or two!

A hybrid of Phlox carolina ssp carolina and Phlox carolina ssp angusta, this release from the Earlibeauty® series by Primrose Path is well-suited for perennial border use or in the cottage garden. It is native to the eastern United States and does best in full sun in moist to average soil. The plants have a long blooom period and rebloom periodically late into the season. The bright clean pink flowers attract butterflies and hummingbird "sphinx" moths as well as hummingbirds. The foliage is resistant to powdery mildew and has a multi-branching habit. The spreading clump grows well in containers and flowers well in one-gallon pots.
Phlox 'Solar Flare' has 1.25" bicolor flowers that are white with a strong pink center marking in rounded panicles from mid-May through June. The plants are about 24" tall and have slightly glossy, pointed leaves. -The Primrose Path
