In spring, this hardy evergreen groundcover is adorned with soft yellow flowers. Its light green foliage makes an excellent underplanting for small trees!

Barren Strawberry is a perennial, evergreen wildflower native to Eastern Canada and the United States. It naturally thrives in forests and along streambanks, with small yellow flowers appearing in woods, thickets, and clearings. This species is endangered in some parts of its range.

Ideal as a groundcover for small sections of borders, rock gardens, native plant gardens, woodland settings, or naturalized areas. It also works well as an edging plant and serves as a great grass alternative in transitional spaces!

Grows easily in average, moderately moist, well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade. Adaptable to various soil types but thrives in humus-rich, slightly acidic soil.
