Additional Information about Aster 'Wood's Pink'
To the best of our ability, we've tracked this group of remarkable selections to Ed Wood of Portland, Oregon. He apparently was a passionate apple breeder, but worked on these on the side. They were introduced after his death by Lynn Caton. ‘Wood’s Pink’ is a compact, clump-forming aster resembling Aster novae-angliae. It forms a dense mound, reaching 12-18 inches in height. From late summer to early fall, it produces an abundance of semi-double, daisy-like flowers with pink petals and yellow centers, which are highly attractive to butterflies. Its foliage consists of glossy, dark green leaves.
