Additional Information about Heuchera 'Frosted Violet'
Heuchera, also known as coral bells or alumroot, is a diverse genus of around 55 perennial plants that retain their foliage year-round or partially shed it, depending on the species. Native to North America, these plants thrive in a range of environments, from woodlands and Appalachian seeps to prairies, rugged cliffs, and high-altitude slopes. Their size varies significantly, with some alpine varieties producing delicate flower spikes just 5 inches tall, while larger woodland species can send up towering spikes reaching 3 feet. Though most Heuchera species originate in the western U.S., particularly the Rocky Mountains and even into northern Mexico, several notable species are also found in the forests of the East and Southeast.
