Hibiscus dasycalyx

Neches River rosemallow

Hibiscus dasycalyx is a lovely Hibiscus quite unlike any other! Growing 3-4' tall, the deeply lobed red-green foliage of this rosemallow adds textural interest to the rain garden with their big white flowers with red throats that bloom from mid-summer till frost. The seedheads are red in color and mature to a deep brown, lending structure to the winter landscape and seeds for hungry songbirds.
