Heuchera villosa 'Caramel' PP16560 - 72 per flat
Bred by Thierry Delabroye, 'Caramel' has glowing apricot new growth fading to soft amber by summer. Fall color is an intense salmon red. Its lobed fuzzy foliage typical of H. villosa stays clean. An eastern US native species that is plenty hardy and unsurpassed for longevity, even in the prolonged heat and humidity of the south. Long panicles of creamy white flowers in late summer.
Sun to partial shade, well-drained alkaline organic soil.
Large, golden-caramel foliage with red undersides. Has excellent coloring and is also a very strong grower with good heat tolerance. Cream flowers, up to 24 in. (60 cm), appear in the Spring. Bred to combine strength and color by crossing more robust species such as villosa hybrids, Beat the Heat is the best of the best. These unique Heuchera varieties exhibit a broad range of foliage colors to enhance and bring contrast to the garden. They stand up to heat and humidity much better than their garden predecessors. - Darwin Perennials
