A fan favorite at Mt. Cuba Center’s Monarda trials thanks to superior resistance to powdery mildew—this selection boasts sturdy, upright stems, and a prolific floral display of purplish-red flowers atop clean green foliage.
Grow in full sun and average to moist soil with good drainage. Water well on planting and regularly until established. Cut back stems to the ground in late winter/early spring. Drought tolerant and mildew resistant.
A taller beebalm cultivar, the purplish-red hues of 'Judith's Fancy Fuchsia' is a standout in the garden. Peak bloom occurs for over 3 weeks with 2 weeks bloom window on either side. An industry favorite, it was selected and named by Peter Heus from Enchanter’s Garden in Hinton, West Virginia. Hummingbirds love this variety!
