Vivid magenta-pink flowers above mounds of large, scented foliage in spring and early summer. An excellent deer-resistant, spreading groundcover for full to part sun areas with the added benefit of lovely red-tinted foliage in the fall.
Prefers average, well-drained soils. Moist, organic soils will promote spreading. Tolerates summer heat well if given ample moisture. Plants can be sheared to 3" (8 cm) to rejuvenate. Rarely needs division.
Deep magenta flowers in summer. Low spreading clumps of palmate, aromatic leaves. The most intensely colored variety in this species. Use around trees or shrubs that provide partial shade. - Blooms of Bressingham
Geranium is derived from the Greek geranós, meaning crane. The common name, cranesbill, derives from the shape of the fruit capsule that appears in some of the species.
