This Future Plants introduction is a Piet Oudolf selection that is compact and flowers very freely. Bright fire red flowers, on the orange side, appear in late April and May on deep wine red stems. This remarkable, early-blooming, bicolor sage was developed and introduced by Richard Turner of the Strybing Arboretum. Two-tone flowers vary depending on the temperature range; the upper hood is a clear white while the pouched lower lip remains cherry red. 'Hot Lips' provides months of intense floral display, autumn coxes foliage into a deep burgundy appearance. Gorgeous!
