A Siskiyou Nursery introduction. Wine red buds opening to rose pink flowers with white stamens. Shorter than other varieties with darker foliage. Occasional white flowers will appear, but they are few.The stems culminate in racemes of orchid like flowers that open a few at a time giving the plant the added bonus of a long blooming period.

Gaura is from the Greek gauros, meaning superb.Introduced from its native Texas in 1851. Named for German immigrant Ferdinand Jakob Lindheimer, who explored Texas for plants, helping found New Braunfels where he settled and became editor of the local newspaper in 1852.-Heritage Flower Farm
Growing and Maintenance Tips
'Siskiyou Pink' prefers well-drained, sandy, loamy soil It's range spans from Louisiana to Texas. Can tolerate heat, humidity and drought.This is a taprooted plant which can be propagated by seed or division after 2-3 years. Deadhead during the flowering season to prolong bloom length and cut back in early spring for flush new growth. May self seed if not cut back. Best used for xeriscaping, perennial gardens or naturalized areas.
