Butterfly weed Interesting Notes

What is most interesting about this Asclepias is that it is a unique host plant owing to its finger-width foliage rather than the traditionally narrow foliage of other Asclepias. It can house a lot of eggs! Deer are not particularly interested in this butterfly weed unless there is a severe drought and then all bets are off in the garden in general.

It has traditional attributes of the parent Asclepias including the unique seed pods with feathery tailed seeds. ‘Hello Yellow’ is best planted with other nectary-type plants.
