Selected for deep, dark-green foliage, later blooming period, clumping forming habit and airy, golden-yellow flowers that emerge in June and last through August. Attractive seed heads persist through winter. An eye catching cool season, semi-evergreen ornamental grass perfectly suited for part sun to shade.

Interesting Notes

Virtually all forms of are highly ornamental, but the smaller, compact 'Goldtau' is smaller and more compact than other forms of Deschampsia cespitosa. We've been utterly impressed with this gem in our trial garden, the dark green foliage, long bloom period and golden yellow flowers stalks command attention.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Plant in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil in partial sun or light shade. Prefers acid conditions. 'Goldtau' can tolerate hot, dry conditions with ample water.
