"Ornamental grasses can be a beautiful addition to any garden," said Mary
Hockenberry Meyer, co-author of Ornamental Grasses for Cold Climates
Grasses vary in color, size, and growth patterns and can add a nice sense
of movement to your landscaping. Meyer said, "Most grasses are virtually
pest-free and winterhardy." For this reason, they are usually a practical,
economical and long-term investment. They are easy to grow, even in areas
and soil where other garden plants often fail.

"One issue with ornamental grasses is deciding where to plant them and
how to incorporate them into your landscape," said Meyer. Perennial borders
are often a good place to start experimenting with ornamental grasses.
There are a number of sizes and varieties that are suitable for this type of
landscaping. www.gardenpride.com
