Interesting Notes
This selection from Dutch breeder Herbert Oudshoorn is an exciting new compact form of the popular Russian sage. Growing to only 2' tall, this sturdy compact selection is topped in late summer and fall with the same dusty lavender-purple flowers that gardeners have grown to love. Bright sun and dry soils in the winter give best results. Plant Delights
Growing and Maintenance Tips
P. atriplicifolia prefers average to dry, well-drained, loamy soil in full sun. Is quite drought tolerant. Easily propagated by cuttings. Extra water and fertilizer in summer will force new flowering stems. Cut back after first hard frost. Great as a perennial border, in mass plantings or a rock garden specimen.
