Care & Maintenance

Prefers well-drained soil in full sun and is ideally suited to a container or wall planting as it is very drought tolerant. Cut back to promote a new flush of growth and to prolong flowering season. Propagate by division or cuttings in early summer. Flowers are sterile. Best used as a low growing groundcover, rock gardens, or edging in the perennial garden.

Interesting Notes

This compact Nepeta retains the non-reseeding quality of its popular parent Walker's Low at one third its size. Blue-green foliage contrasts nicely with lavender-blue flowers for a long blooming window from mid-May through September. Junior Walker™ Nepeta was selected as one of Colorado State University's Top Perennial Performers for the 2012 season. - Star Roses & Plants
