Position Summary

The Driver transports finished product to designated customers according to a trucking schedule prepared by the Shipping Supervisor and/or Shipping Manager.  The Driver will perform various other operational functions to ensure the effective operation of the Shipping Department by ensuring that prescribed schedules, policies and procedures are followed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Inspect vehicle weekly and complete Weekly Vehicle Checklist, notifying Oxford Farm Manager and Maintenance Manager of any maintenance issues that need reporting
Complete a thorough vehicle inspection prior to each customer delivery trip
Responsible for ensuring vehicle has documentation prior to customer delivery trip (i.e., DOT medical card, insurance card, registration)
Ensure compliance with ELD Mandate
Abide by all laws pertaining to use of a wireless device while operating a motor vehicle
Be courteous to customers while making deliveries; exemplifying North Creek image
Transfer plants between production facility and shipping department
Perform additional duties as required

Experience

Prior delivery driving experience required

Knowledge / Skills Required

Ability to drive a box truck
Ability to pass a Department of Transportation medical certification physical
Possess a valid driver's license, with ability for record to pass insurance company standards
Valid passport required or ability to obtain U.S. passport
Ability to follow map directions
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Be able to read, write and count accurately
Basic understanding of computers, including email and wireless devices (tablets, text messaging)
Experience in general automotive maintenance helpful
Be a good communicator; can organize thoughts well and express them in a clear manner that is well received
Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Be reliable and consistent in attendance and punctuality, report to work on time; follow the timekeeping process
Ability to work weekends or after hours when required
Follow and sustain LEAN practices in day-to-day tasks
Maintain a clean working area ("start clean, work clean, finish clean"), specifically the inside of delivery vehicles
Keep supervisor informed (e.g., report any vehicle maintenance issues immediately to Manager)
Willing to go the "extra mile" to ensure our customers' loyalty and return business

Ability to follow directions and carry out tasks assigned and at times performing those tasks satisfactorily without supervision, as well as ability to make knowledgeable decisions

Education

Travel: Travel to Canada required

Compensation: Based on experience
