Perennial Plant Association National Symposium

“If you don’t learn anything at a PPA conference and don’t come back
fired up and re-inspired – you are in the wrong business!
The passion and skill shared by members of the PPA is unsurpassed. It
really is like a family gathering where you REALLY like your Family.”
Join us – we’re growing. Janet Draper
MidAtlantic Region Director

Baltimore is home of some of the most influential horticulturists and designers of our time. The epicenter for the use of perennials
en masse, redefining the term ‘ground cover’ to include plants greater than 12” tall, and the embracing of ornamental
grasses to create an entire gardening movement. But before those gardens could be created, there had to be nurseries large
enough to supply demand…. And the Baltimore region was ready and able to supply. And that flow of plant material has never
ceased… the Baltimore region has a wealth of amazing growers that help set the course for American Horticulture.

SHALL WE NAME DROP THE LIST OF HORTICULTURAL ROCK-STARS that you'll meet and hear speak?

Hear acclaimed German horticulturist Cassian Schmidt share his planting ideas. Horticultural Visionary, Ed Snodgrass will be speaking about the world of Functional Horticulture. Dale Hendricks from Green Light Plants will also be speaking about Trilliums. Hear Roy Diblik tell how he has implemented Cassian’s ideas at Northwind Perennial Farm. Don’t miss Kevin Campion discuss creating problem solving landscapes in his “The Beauty of Water” session. Hear how Oehme, Van Sweden & Associates, Inc. continues to evolve its rule- breaking and award-winning design firm. And our very own Steve Castorani will be presenting at the THURSDAY program and Claudia West will also be speaking
